Cookie policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) says websites must tell you what they store on your device, and ask permission unless it's needed for the service you've asked for or to remember a choice you've made. This page lists everything PaySorted stores.

The short version

What we store and why

PaySorted uses your browser's local storage, which works like a cookie but stays on your device and isn't sent with every request.

NameWhat it's forHow long
paysorted-authKeeps you logged in to the app.Until you log out
ps-businessRemembers which business you're working in, if you have access to more than one.Until you log out or clear it
ps-themeRemembers if you chose light or dark mode.Until you change it or clear it
ps-draft-…Keeps an unfinished quote or invoice on your device so you don't lose it.Until you save or discard it
ps-codesWhen you open the sign-up page from a link with a referral, partner or offer code, holds that code so it's applied to your new account. Our public web pages don't store it.Until you've signed up or clear it
ps-pending-signupHolds your sign-up details while you confirm your email address.Until sign-up finishes
ps-invite, ps-accHolds a team or accountant invitation from the link you opened, so it can be accepted after you log in.Until it's used
ps-install-…, ps-installedRemembers if you added PaySorted to your home screen or said "not now" to the prompt.Until you clear it
psx-fail-seenRemembers which "not sent" alerts you've already seen, so they don't keep popping up.Until you clear it
ps-demo-…Holds the pretend data in the demo. It never leaves your device.Until you clear it
App files (service worker)Saves the app's own files on your phone so it opens quickly and works with a weak signal.Until the next update

Other websites

When you pay an invoice or a PaySorted subscription, you're taken to Stripe's secure payment pages. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud — see Stripe's cookie policy. Part of the app's code is delivered by jsDelivr, which doesn't set cookies.

Your choices

You can clear or block storage in your browser settings at any time (usually under "Clear browsing data" or "Website data"). If you block it, the public website still works, but the app won't be able to keep you logged in or save drafts.

Visit counting: we count visits to our public web pages so we know which pages are useful. This uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there's nothing to accept or block. See section 3 of our privacy policy.

If we ever want to store anything on your device that isn't essential, we'll update this page and ask for your permission first.
