Questions
Is this receipt template free?
Yes. Fill it in and use "Save as PDF / print". Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Do I have to give a customer a receipt?
There's no general legal duty to give a receipt for a paid invoice, but customers often ask for one, especially after paying cash. If you're VAT registered and your customer is also VAT registered, you must give them a VAT invoice within 30 days of the work or payment, whether or not they ask.
What should a receipt show?
Your business name and contact details, the customer, the date paid, what it was for, the amount, how it was paid, and VAT details if you're VAT registered.
Stop chasing invoices. We'll do it for you.
