Made for UK trades

If you work under the Construction Industry Scheme, your invoices need to split labour and materials and show the CIS deduction. VAT-registered subcontractors often need the domestic reverse charge wording. PaySorted does both automatically. We couldn't find either documented for Invoice2go.

No invoice caps to outgrow

According to Invoice2go's pricing page, its Starter plan allows 30 invoices a year and Professional 100 a year — you need the top plan for unlimited. A busy plumber can send 30 invoices in a fortnight. PaySorted has no invoice limits on any plan — send as many as you need from £14.99 a month.

Chasing that sounds like you

Both send automatic reminders. PaySorted gives you three tones to choose from (Friendly, Professional, Firm), lets you edit every word, sends by email and text on Pro and Business, pauses if the customer replies, and stops the moment they pay. It can even work out late payment interest and prepare a letter before action if a business customer won't pay.

Your accountant and MTD

PaySorted syncs with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage, and your accountant gets a free portal to check your records — handy now Making Tax Digital has started. Invoice2go syncs with QuickBooks and Xero on its Professional plan and above.

You can also try PaySorted for 30 days without giving card details. Invoice2go's 30-day trial asks for a card.

The verdict
