Price: flat, not per person
Tradify charges per user on every plan — £34, £37 or £44 a month each. PaySorted is a flat price: £14.99, £24.99 or £39.99 a month, and the Business plan includes 3 logins. For a sole trader that's less than half the price; for a small team the gap gets bigger with every person you add.
Chasing: on every plan, your way
Chasing unpaid invoices is what PaySorted is built around. Polite reminders go out automatically on every plan, starting at £14.99. You choose the tone (Friendly, Professional or Firm), edit every word, and lengthen the schedule if you want to go gentler. The moment the customer pays, it stops. If they reply, chasing pauses and asks you what to do.
With Tradify, automatic reminders start on the Pro plan at £37 per user. Text reminders cost 10p each and, according to Tradify's help pages, their timing and wording can't be changed.
CIS and the reverse charge
If you work for contractors, this matters. PaySorted works out CIS deductions on the labour only, shows them on the invoice, and handles the VAT domestic reverse charge — built in.
Tradify's own help centre says it has no native CIS or reverse VAT options; you need to link it to Xero or Sage and do it there.
Your accountant and Making Tax Digital
PaySorted syncs with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage, and your accountant gets a free portal on every plan: they can see your invoices and expenses, ask for missing records, and pull period-end and VAT packs — useful now Making Tax Digital has started. Tradify links to Xero, QuickBooks and Sage; FreeAgent isn't listed.
Where Tradify fits
Tradify is a strong choice if what you need most is scheduling and dispatching a team — staff calendars, timesheets, compliance certificates and job tracking across several engineers. That's a different job from getting paid.
The verdict
If your biggest headache is invoices and chasing money, PaySorted does it for less, on every plan, with CIS and the reverse charge built in. Most sole traders and small teams will pay a fraction of the price and spend far less time chasing.
Moving is quick. Import your customers and unpaid invoices from a spreadsheet (CSV), and PaySorted starts chasing the overdue ones straight away. Set-up takes about two minutes, and free set-up help is there if you'd like a hand. Try it free for 30 days — no card needed.
